A one-night stand - even if it was only for a night - is no inadvertant slip. You made the choice to go through with it. Clearly, you did not pause even for a second to think of your wife's feelings. I think you should man up and own up to your deed. Cheating is usually symptomatic of something being wrong or missing in a relationship - it would be better to address that now, tenth anniversary or not. You need to be honest with yourself and figure out why you did it in the first place: do you still love your wife, do you still value your relationship, etc. Then sit down with your wife and tell her what you did and, more importantly, why you think you did it. But it should be for your wife to decide whether she wants to repair the relationship or move on. For all you know, she may have been finding something missing in the relationship too. A heart-to-heart may give both of you some answers. Good luck!

I had a one night stand three weeks ago at a work trip. I feel horrible about it and want to come clean with my wife as she is making grand arrangements for our 10 year anniversary.  How do I tell my wife I had an affair ? Or should I not tell her at all?
