I feel that men want all the normal things that women want, like love, companionship and compatibility in all respects. However, one extra thing that they want is their own space as well.

While there are many articles, blogs, discussions, talk shows, movies and even stand-up comedy routines on ‘What Women Want’, we hardly see anything that deals with ‘What Men Want’ in a relationship. Is it that, what men want from women is considered too obvious to warrant even cursory attention? Too predictable and therefore uninteresting? In your opinion, what does a man look for in a relationship?

Men are from Mars, after all, and their responses are bound to be different. Most men have been brought up to keep a stiff upper lip and not show their emotions. Maybe this is what makes them less impulsive and more constrained as far as such discussions go. It is not that they feel less; it is just that they express less!

I find that women find it easy to talk about partners, men like to keep mum? Is it that they do not feel as much or they just think it is strictly private business?

If a relationship is abusive from the start, it is probably not going to get any better. In such a case, it would ideally be best not to get involved at all. However, if you are already in such a relationship, and realize that there is no hope of things getting better, you should walk out instead of suffering in silence. A clean break would be best.

The question just stopped me in my tracks? Whom i will choose to help? My friend or his/her better half? Will i let better sense prevail? or will i get emotional about the issue?Who will i work to save?

My parents, Nalini and Easwara, had the perfect marriage. She was like quicksilver to his steadfastness, and he was the balm to her fiery spirit. They adored each other, and what was unique was that when they were away from each other, they would write letters every single day. When he passed away at the young age of 42, the fairy tale came to an end. But the memories of that perfect love still remain evergreen in our minds.
