Baby to explain to in-laws that they're our prerogative?

My in laws have decided they want to name my children. While I don't have any yet, I do want to be able to pick the names of my own babies. But they seem adamant that they've had these names in mind for years. How do I explain that these decisions are my prerogative?

In this scenario, I feel a family meeting is important. I think you and your wife should head the meeting and explain to them that both of you are really eager to name your child and the fact that they could pitch in with some adorable nicknames which are always more resonating than the real name. I feel you should really make your feelings clear if you are willing to name your child. It is, of course, your prerogative.

Rohini: Thank your for the suggestion. Letting my in laws choose their nick names seems like an excellent idea :)
