Helping my wife

My wife is a perfectionist, and prefers doing all work by herself. But I want to help her, especially with home chores. According to her, I'm no good at them and should let her manage. Should I leave it to her? I will not get any better till I learn and make a few mistakes. How do I convince her this will be better for us both?

I think she has been like this from the scratch and being a perfectionist, she wants to do everything on her own without relying on anyone else who could spoil the plot. So I think you should really start helping her every now and then, build the trust and I surely think she will succumb to your relentless efforts. All the best.

Mayank: I do hope she does understand eventually. Trying to take one step at a time!

Try to observer her and learn the work before helping her. Because, doing something in a wrong manner would just add up to her burden. So learn it the do the work (sometimes without telling her) and then she would show confidence in you from the next time.

Mayank: Observing and learning is a great idea. Thanks! I just hope she doesn't think she has the creepiest husband!

Talk to her and try explain where you're coming from. Ask her to help you get better at these things, as it will really make you happy.
