Do you follow the same set of rules in your personal as well as professional lives?

We all live by certain rules that define us and our lives. Some of them might be unacceptable to others but for the person who believes in those rules, they are sacrosanct. But are those rules universal or other factors force us to change our rules for different people.

  1. Rules are relative. There are certain mannerisms which are valued by each individual differently. Those individual mannerisms may seem stupid to others. I feel every one has the right to express their own perspectives but there is of course a universal law that all should abide by. You are right about the fact that at times it is not possible to express freely because of the fear of judgement. We often fear about being judged and that is when we censor our expressions for tge better.

  2. Interesting Andy but I feel that having one face makes life simple and very tough at the same time. Yet that’s the best way. One need not act or pretend or hide but stay honest and up front with everyone. Such a person might have very few friends but they will be true ones. It’s better to be lonely than be surrounded by unwanted people.

    What say?

  3. The Japanese say you have three faces. The first face, you show to the world. The second face, you show to your close friends, and your family. The third face, you never show anyone. Whatever suits you and helps you sleep better / peace of mind.

  4. My rules which are unbendable are:- If someone puts me down constantly I distance myself. I do not want flatterers but people who can give genuine advice…and some like these!
