Does being a good friend make you a good partner?

So, I was chatting with a friend of mine recently and the topic came up about a 90’s movie where the hero says that love is nothing but an extention of friendship. If we can be best friends, we can be in the best of relationships. (That’s loosely translated from Hindi)
My question is this: do you think it helps in a relationship if you are good friends with your partner?

  1. It definitely helps. Friendship is the foundation to any good relationship. You are already in that comfort zone where you are free to tell each other all your doubts, hesitations and worries without the fear of being judged. You have that compatibility, trust and respect which sometimes takes years to forge between married couples.
