How advisable is dating in the workplace?

How advisable is dating in the workplace? You spend more than 90 percent of your awake time of the day with colleagues. You are bound to grow closer to a few. Is it healthy to date a colleague? (in terms of career, professionalism etc)

  1. It is okay to date a colleague as long as professional ethics at the work place are not compromised. *p*

  2. I do not think there is any problem with it. If you can balance between your career and love then I do not feel there is any problem with it. Love can happen at any place at any point in time so you cannot just push it aside if it is there in your workplace.*p**p* *p*

  3. Every company has workplace relationship rules. So you should abide by it if you don't want to lose your job. If it allows the relationship between peers then you can go ahead. People just should be mature enough to not let the personal and professional life mix. If they can handle in nicely then it doesn't matter if they are working with their colleague who's her husband too. So, it all comes down to how professionally you handle your career and how personally you handle your love life.*p**p* *p*

  4. Well I have dated at the workplace. It does make weekdays a lot more interesting. But things can also get awkward because you keep bumping into an ex if things don't go well. And you also become fodder for office gossip. Tags and labels fly around easily. So approach with caution!*p*

  5. I have friends who have even married colleagues. Obviously considering how much time one spends at work, it's difficult to not have any romantic involvement. It's just that we are meeting them everyday in any case and especially if things don't go well, it gets complicated. *p*
