To prevent another failed relationship and more lost job opportunities, she must accept who and what she is. Anne Hathaway’s portrayal of bipolar disorder was spot on. The series has done a splendid job in portraying loving someone with a mental illness.
My take: What I did not like was the overwhelming amount of musical numbers. But I loved that the ending didn’t try to sew things up perfectly and ended on a friendship, as opposed to a romantic note. This episode was definitely in the list of the Modern Love TV series top stories.

Tina Fey is worth watching in this episode. It’s not what you would expect and it’s a great example of how important communication is. My take: This was one of the more lighthearted episodes of the Modern Love TV Series, but there were some wonderfully emotional undertones. A woman opts to become a vagabond by choice; a gay couple become the caregivers and family for a straight, homeless woman’s child – the story includes many such diverse characters and experiences.
The race grows sweeter near its finish
The finale of the Modern Love series on old love was the most poignant. It’s about a couple in their 70s who fall in love while out running. Their love story was beautiful.
One of the most poignant scenes was the the woman’s speech at the funeral, which was truly lovely and a lesson to those who think life is over when you are old. It rounded it out with flashbacks to all the main characters of the previous episodes, adding some insight and elaboration to their lives.
My take: What tugged at my heart was that love can make you feel young again, that love can come knocking at your door at any age, that you must grab the second chance at love that life gives you.
To add more to this Modern Love TV series review would not be fair to those who have not hit play yet. From birth to death, breakups to makeups, these eight stories covered all the bases of modern love and hit a home run. The acting in each story was all completely to the point.
The cinematography has some beautiful shots of New York City. A couple of episodes initially looked like they were going down scary roads, but eventually each episode ended well. In a world where everything is shiny and based on instant gratification; where we’re bombarded with only the best of life on Facebook/Instagram, this shows us what really is going on in a person’s life.
After this review, I do hope you will add it to your must-watch list. I recommend it as a balm and a heart-centered hope. A must see for the romantic at heart.
